The PTA runs the showcase and helps the school raise money through different sales at the event. One of the big money makers is the silent auction pieces. Each class makes a piece to sell. Check out some of the pieces that were for sale this year.
This coffee table was my favorite. My 2nd grade mentor's class made this puzzle piece "cycles" table. It is absolutely adorable. The students painted the wood pieces with different science cycles. The pieces can be rearranged and played with by kids. So awesome!
This fish lamp was my class' piece. I would have loved to have my class paint a furniture piece, but at the time that I started in late November, I was too overwhelmed to come up with anything myself, so I left it up to the art moms that volunteer at the school. My students had a fun time creating the fish. That's all that matters.
In the main hallway at the school's entrance there's a "main gallery display" of an art "quilt" from each class. They are absolutely amazing.

And then finally, each hallway belongs to one grade level, and each student gets their own poster with a display of their artwork from the school year. It is crazy to have to save all of their artwork all year, then have them choose a few pieces from their collection to include on their display. Here are some of the displays.

Amazing! Just dumbfounding to me that art is one of the first things to go in school budgets these days...
